USER LOGIN & VALIDATION
Since Carleton Central offers personalized and sensitive information, users are required to login to a secure site. To login, use your User ID (i.e. your student number, Employee ID or Carleton applicant number) and your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and press Login.
For your first login to the system only, your default PIN is your date of birth (in YYMMDD format). You will then be required to change your PIN through the user validation process.
Once you have logged on, your session will be terminated after 15 minutes of inactivity. Any incomplete activity will be lost.
- If you are a returning Carleton University student, your student number has expanded from 6 digits to 9 digits. If this applies to you, all you need to do is add "100" to the beginning of your existing 6-digit student number (100XXXXXX), or add "1000" to your existing 5-digit number. For example, if your student number is currently 123456, your new number will be 100123456. It is this number that you will use in the User ID field to access Carleton Central. All new students/applicants already have a 9-digit User ID.
- If you are faculty or staff, add an "E" to the beginning of your 5 digit employee number (EXXXXX) or your new 9-digit Banner Number for your User ID. For example, if you employee number is 12345, your User ID is E12345. It is this number that you will use in the User ID field to access Carleton Central. For help, contact email@example.com.
